Ever get those? (Brainstorms, I mean…)

Well, I will have to admit that I get them quite often. In fact, they can become a plague at times.

I love doing stuff.

I’ve never been able to understand the “just sit down and read a book” mindset. Sure, I do love to read, but I can’t spend hours just reading books like some folks can… I like to “accomplish” things… to a fault really. Other than accquiring more “information” (which can be a very good thing, no doubt), just reading books can leave me with the nagging feeling that I haven’t “accomplished” anything. Playing games is the same way for me… things like board games are just totally uninteresting to me… something I’d do only to make the other people begging me to play, happy! If I sit down to do anything, I try to do two or three things at once… I have this urge to make the most of every possibility that I possibly can. Maybe that sounds strange to you, but I guess it’s just my personality.

I have a love for creativity and beauty. Not to say that my “accomplishments” are ever anything great, but I like to at least try!

Anyhow, the other day I was hit with a sudden brainstorm to create curtains from fabric that I found laying in a old file cabinet. Goodness knows where that fabric came from in the first place, or how long it had been laying there; but at any rate, it was there, and begging for some good attention.

Our laundry/school area has needed some curtains desperately… so when that brainstorm hit me, I decided it was high time to chase away that “need” as quickly as possible!

I counted the windows (4), and then measure the fabric… Exactly enough!!!

I could hardly believe it…! Awesome!

Well, then I carefully followed the clear “design” in my minds eye… and…

Hooray! My brainstorm was very successful, indeed! Aw, and how lovely…! 😉

As I was hanging them up, my brother walked in the room and heard me saying to myself, “Wow… wow… wow…” (needless to say, I was so happy with the results! 😆 ), and he said, “You’re funny!” “Oh, c’mon!” I retorted, “Don’t they look perfect?!” “Yeah, well, I guess,” he replied shaking his head. “Ok, well, they’re better than nothing, right?!” I asked, “That’s for sure!” he answered, laughing.

Ok, well, I’ve come to this conclusion after much observation:

Guys only give compliments if it’s really, really, and I mean REALLY great. Otherwise, they just don’t…! And don’t ask me why, ‘cuz I don’t “get it” either! (Oh, but if anyone does know why, I’m all ears! 😆 ) Girls are just free-er with compliments, I guess… Must have something to do with being creatures of emotion rather than creatures of logic. [hahaha]

I truly never give a compliment unless I really mean it, but… well…

Anyway!

Enough random musings for today, wouldn’t you say?! 🙂
